According to Muppet Wiki, "Count von Count is a Sesame Street character, parodying the popular conception of Count Dracula and other sterotypical Transylvanian vampires.  He first appeared on Sesame Street Episode 406, the Season 4 Premiere (1972-73).  What the Count always likes to do every day is count anything and everything.  When he finishes counting, he laughs and announces the total of things he counted.  This is usually followed by a crash of thunder and lightning.  He lives in an old castle, which he shares with many bats.  His own introduction line is, "Greetings! I am the Count. Do you know why they call me the Count? Because I love to count things!"  His girlfriend is the Countess.  From Season 33 (2002) to Season 38 (2007), he received his own daily segment on Sesame Street called The Number Of the Day.  He is made from a Large Lavender Live Hand Anything Muppet."

Performers:
Jerry Nelson (1972-2012)
Matt Vogel (2013-present)
