According to Muppet Wiki, "Kermit became famous through his role on Sesame Street as the news reporter on Sesame Street News Flash.  He interviewed many characters from nursery rhymes and fairy tales.  Also on Sesame Street, he sang some of the most unforgettable songs such as 'Bein' Green', 'This Frog', 'I Love My Elbows', 'On My Pond' and 'Caribbean Amphibian'. He also gave out lectures about simple subjects such as letters, numbers, and different concepts.  In the 2000's, unlike any other character on Sesame Street, his sketches became rare on the show.  Although, some of them were released on Sesame Street Old School DVD's while the others appeared on Sesamestreet.org.  He is owned by the Walt Disney Company since 2004.  Interestingly, in the show's second season, he was absent from the show and was replaced by Herbert Birdsfoot.  Kermit returned to the show in its third season (1971-72)."

Performers:
Jim Henson (1955-1990)
Steve Whitmire (1990-2016)
Matt Vogel (2017-present)
